Interior and Exterior Mobile Detailing

Many years ago, a wax or sealant was the standard for enhanced shine and protection to your car’s paint from the elements like rain, dirt, and bird droppings. While it got the job done, technology has come a long way since then. Enter ceramic coatings—a much stronger and durable solution to provide protection that can last several years, not just months.

Unlike traditional waxes, a ceramic coating bonds to your vehicle’s surface, forming a semi-permanent layer of protection often referred to as a “sacrificial” shield. This layer absorbs harsh elements like rain, dirt, and snow, preserving the paint underneath.

The best combination is to first have the swirls and scratches removed from your paint with our paint correction service in order to make the ceramic coating work its best.

The Benefits of a Ceramic Coating For Anaheim Customer

Anaheim’s climate can range from sunny skies to occasional rain or very dusty roads depending on where you’re driving. This is what makes a ceramic coating essential to protect your vehicle year-round. The coating is a durable, long-lasting solution to keep your car looking its best and making it easier to maintain your car when you wash it.

Ceramic coatings provide a significant upgrade over traditional waxes or sealants. While waxes and sealants are great and we still offer them, they typically last up to six months under ideal conditions. Ceramic coatings can protect your vehicle for up to four years with proper care. Here’s why you need a coating:

Long-lasting Protection: Ceramic coatings create a tough, sacrificial layer that shields your car’s paint from debris, road grime, and more, ensuring your vehicle stays in pristine condition.

Hydrophobic Properties: The hydrophobic surface repels water and dirt, making maintenance washes much easier and faster. Water beads off and contaminants are less likely to stick to the paint. This helps a lot during long road trips!

Enhanced Gloss: Ceramic coatings fill microscopic imperfections in your paint, creating a reflective, glossy finish. You don’t need to apply a wax or sealant every 6 months.

Versatile Application: Ceramic coatings aren’t just for paint. We have coatings for your glass, plastic trim, rims, and even interior surfaces like leather and fabric.

If you no longer want to worry about protecting your paint with a wax or sealant every few months, a ceramic coating is the best option for you. This is why so many Anaheim customers choose to protect their daily driven vehicles.

If your car gets dirty with rain or dirt, washing it becomes much easier. The coating prevents dirt and grime from sticking to the surface, so with a pressure washer, when you rinse it off, most of it will slide off. Then when you start to wash it, it’s nowhere near as dirty or caked on.

The Ceramic Coating Process

Before we apply the ceramic coating, we first have to properly prepare your vehicle and vehicle so it can best adhere to the paint for long-lasting results. Depending on the condition of your vehicle, the prep process may be more extensive and require more time.

Cleanse the paint: Preparation is the foundation of a successful ceramic coating. We start by thoroughly cleaning the wheels and tires, doing a gentle hand-wash of the exterior, do a clay and iron decontamination treatment to remove embedded contaminants and ensure a clean surface. Then we dry the vehicle to prepare for the next step.

Polish the Paint: We’ll polish the vehicle based on your paint’s condition and what you’d like to achieve. If it’s a vehicle with a light amount of swirls, a light polish is all that’s needed. If the paint has heavy swirls, a more extensive polish would be done..

Apply the Coating: Once the paint is prepped and polished, we thoroughly clean each panel with a panel prep solution to remove any leftover polish or wax residue. This step ensures proper adhesion of the ceramic coating to the paint. We then apply the coating to all painted surfaces, providing a durable, hydrophobic layer that protects and enhances your vehicle for years to come.

Does a Ceramic Coating Prevent Scratches on My Paint?

This is a common misconception about ceramic coatings. While ceramic coatings can help minimize or reduce very light abrasions, they are not designed to protect your vehicle from rock chips, deep scratches, or significant impacts from debris. The primary purpose of a ceramic coating is to provide a durable, hydrophobic layer that enhances your paint’s gloss and makes maintenance easier by repelling dirt and contaminants.

For protection against physical damage like rock chips or deeper scratches, Paint Protection Film (PPF) is the absolute best option. PPF is a thick, durable film specifically designed to absorb impacts and shield your vehicle’s paint from more substantial damage.

While ceramic coatings offer excellent long-term benefits for maintaining your car’s condition and protecting it from the outside elements, it’s important to understand their limitations.

How Long Does a Ceramic Coating Last?

The lifespan of a ceramic coating depends largely on two key factors: how the vehicle is stored and how it’s maintained.

If your vehicle is kept indoors, away from harsh sunlight or outdoor elements, the coating will naturally last longer. On the other hand, if you park your vehicle outside 24/7 and are exposed to constant sun, rain, or debris, the coating will weaken faster.

That being said, maintenance also plays a significant factor. If you keep up with washing the vehicle and adding a ceramic booster on the paint at least once a month, that will prolong its life, even if it’s sitting outside all-day.

However, if you’re doing improper washing techniques like using harsh chemicals or low-quality wash mitts, that can degrade the coating as well. For optimal results, we recommend gentle, pH-neutral car wash soaps and proper washing and drying methods to preserve the coating’s effectiveness and longevity.

With proper care, even under not-so-ideal conditions, a ceramic coating can last for years, providing durable protection and glossy finish.

Ceramic Coating FAQs

Is ceramic coating better than waxing your car?
Yes, ceramic coatings are more durable and glossy than waxing. However, it may not always be the ideal choice for every customer. For example, if you’re protecting a heavily used work truck exposed to constant wear from branches, tools, or debris, a coating might not be the most practical solution.

What other detailing services do you offer?
We offer a range

Can I apply ceramic coating to my wheels?
Absolutely! We can apply ceramic coating to your wheels based on your preferences.

Can a ceramic coating fill chipped paint?
Unfortunately, no. Ceramic coatings cannot fill in chipped paint or deep scratches. Minor imperfections may be polished out if they’re not too deep. For more significant damage, paint touch-up or repainting will be necessary.

Can I wash my car after the coating is applied?
After the ceramic coating is applied, your vehicle should stay dry for at least 48 hours to allow the coating to fully cure. We recommend waiting around two weeks before washing your car to ensure optimal bonding.

Can a ceramic coating replace my clear coat?
No, a ceramic coating cannot replace your vehicle’s clear coat. If your paint is chipping or fading due to clear coat failure, the only solution is to repair or repaint the affected areas before applying a ceramic coating for protection.
